Special Considerations for expecting mothers
The goal for providing massage to expecting mothers is to provide effective, safe and nurturing massage in a comfortable environment. Here are some special considerations in place to support that intention:
- When the pregnant mother can no longer lie on her stomach, comfortable pillows help support her body lying on her side, and a special massage table semi reclines when she can no longer lie flat on her back. Extra pillows are available to support her legs and arms and provide comfort.
- Extra time between massages allows the expecting mother to take her time getting on and off the massage table.
- A robe is available to wear in the event the expecting mother needs to use the restroom during her massage.
- In home massage is available for expecting and postpartum mothers. This allows her to be in the comfort of her home, as well as have her baby/children home with her during the massage. Please call or email for details.
- Postpartum massage is available after the mother births her baby. Rolled up towels are available to support her shoulders while lying on her stomach to support her shoulders and ease pressure in her chest if she is breastfeeding. Pillows are available to support her body and provide comfort during the massage.
- Cesarean Section scar massage is available, if needed.
